The Pros and Cons of Weddingbook

Computer MarriagePerhaps your first question may be, “What is Weddingbook?” in which case I envy you, but nevertheless I will explain. Weddingbook is an extension of Facebook which allows everyone to follow the progress of the average Bridezilla’s wedding planning. Using the site allows you to view the Bride’s [sic] wedding party and their respective profiles, get constant updates on the decision-making process, and keep up on all of the slightest details from the color of the invitations to the size of the reception. There’s even a wedding countdown clock that lets you know, day by day, how close you are to that special moment.

Now, let me just note that for the purposes of this article Weddingbook is a symbol for all similar applications of the modern technological age and you may take this article as an ‘insert-your-(least)favorite-wedding-announcement-innovation’ here sort of deal. So, apart from the obvious obnoxiousness of Weddingbook, why is it becoming a source of debate between girlfriends? (more…)
