Monday, July 21st, 2008

Wax KitOkay, so I’m sick and tired of shaving…I don’t want to spend the money to get waxed in a salon, and I can’t afford the laser hair removal for my entire body…sooooo….what’s a girl to do? Well, what I did was drive to the Walmart Supercenter to explore my options. (more…)

Review - Pottery Barn Water Bottle

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Pottery Barn Water BottleIt’s been a while, but here I am with some jewels of wisdom for you: my boyfriend recently started carrying around this metal water bottle because he’s a hippie and is trying to save the environment by not using plastic bottles and….whew, gotta take a breath…..then I realized how financially rewarding it would be to not purchase bottled water each and every friggn day…$2 for a bottle of water!!! COME ON!  So I searched and searched and could not find one!  Well guess what? His mom, who is a saint by the way, went and got me one from the same place she got his….Pottery Barn! I’ve never set foot in a Pottery Barn and you don’t have to either :) They’re selling them online for $7 which is pretty sweet considering they’re usually $10.  Anyway, I’ve been using mine for a few days, and I love it! Plastic bottles smell funny after a few days (even if you wash them…it’s nasty) but this one seems to be holding up pretty well so far.  The Nalgene ones kinda gross me out too.  So if you’re a hippie/cheapskate/germaphobe, go check it out…it comes in pretty colors :)

Review: The Wedding Singer the Musical

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

The Wedding SingerHello my friendly friends!! I just got back from Charlotte, NC and let me tell you, it’s a pretty lame city. I know, I know, that is not a nice thing to say, but when it’s 40 degrees and all the shops close at 2 pm, what is a girl to do?! Lucky for me, The Wedding Singer was in town, and I was able to score some sweet seats for $20 because I iz a colleeg stoodent. I was a little skeptical as to the worthiness of this musical, but I like musicals in general so I figured it couldn’t be that bad. I was actually really impressed with this show and was happy with the differences between it and the movie version. Robbie’s fiancé Linda definitely stole the show and her 2 scenes were my favorite by far. That girl can sing! Certain parts can be a little “adult” so it’s probably not a show you want to take your 3 year old niece to, but if it comes to your city, check it out! It’s a great way to spend $20-$50 and it makes you feel like you have a little damn culture in your life!

Review - Endless Summer Tattoo, Cocoa Beach, FL

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Endless Summer TattooI heart tattoo’s. This is a shocking statement coming from someone whose voice sounds like Minnie Mouse and looks like I belong in a cutesy-wootsy dress at all times….but it’s true. I got my first when I was 15, my 2nd when I was 18 and I have waited until the tender age of 23 to get my third…it’s pretty sweet. I was in Cocoa Beach with a friend, and we decided that we needed to get a tattoo…RIGHT THIS SECOND…so we asked our server at Slow and Low BBQ (great fried dill pickles by the way) for the best tattoo place to go to in Cocoa Beach. She said, Endless Summer Tattoo…and thank God she did! (While we were getting ours done, some girl came in crying. She had gone to another place right by Ron Jon Surf Shop, and the guy decided that half way through, he didn’t feel like finishing her tattoo and kicked her out!! We almost went to that place, and I’m so glad we didn’t!!) The guys were really chill and patient, and they made us feel comfortable, which is important when you’re adding something to your body for life.

If you’re ever in Cocoa Beach, FL and decide that you want a tattoo, I highly recommend Endless Summer Tattoo, it was a great experience and now I have a gorgeous new tattoo…and not a half finished one. The guy that did mine was Jason Dorrier, and he didn’t yell at me once for flinching!
