Mario Corset - DON’T Want

Mario Corset

You know those mornings when you wake up and think, “Gee Golly, I sure do wish I had an outfit that expressed both my Goth and Gaming Nerd style.” Yeah, me neither, but for those Goth Gamer Chicks out there, you can finally add something to your wardrobe that will either make you the coolest chick on the block or the one that everyone secretly laughs at when you’re glued to your computer screen.

Ps. Yes, corsets are considered goth when worn outside of the bedroom….look it up, it’s in the encyclopedia under “What NOT to wear”….”According to Brandy”….”And if you wear loads of black eyeliner and think angry thoughts.” (more…)

WTF Shoes?!

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

No HeelsHigh heels without the heel!! Sounds like a revolutionary idea!! The wave of the future!! Nope, it’s retarded:

1. They’re not cute, they’re awkward looking. I’m guessing the person wearing them would be equally as awkward looking.

2. They’re bad for your back and feet according to Michael Paynton, chairman of the British Chiropody and Podiatry Association, who had this to say: “The heel is there to stabilise. When you elevate the rear of the foot it makes you lean forward, which is bad for both the back and the foot. The front of the foot ends up taking the weight of the bulk of your body, which can in turn do damage to the tendons in your legs by shortening them. I certainly would not recommend these shoes.”

3. They cost 1800 pounds, which is roughly $3600 USD. I would rather use $3600 for things that don’t cause back and foot injury….a tropical getaway? A shopping spree? 3,600 one dollar bills to put in the g-strings of Chippendale dancers? All much better ways to spend your money.

If you simply must have them, you will join the ranks of celebrities that have flocked to have this new item of “coolness” like Posh Spice and Gwyneth Paltrow, but in the eyes of Average Chicks everywhere, you’re still insane.

10 Spring Looks That I Want RIGHT NOW

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

HanselIf you still have an icky taste in your mouth from the fashion uglies in What NOT to Wear, I have ten delightfully pretty things for you to drool over with me. To borrow a line from Ron Bergundy: “I want to be on you”…and by you, I mean the clothes….and all the people who designed them…all at once….yeah, we get pretty crazy around here.

Note: Brandy is speaking figuratively, unless the clothes and designers are into that sort of thing, in which case, I’ll bring the chocolate pudding! (more…)

Newport News

I discovered Newport-News.com a few years ago when a pair of their heels were featured in Vogue magazine. I have ordered swim wear, shoes and tank tops from them, and I was pleased with the results each time. They have some really cute items that are fairly inexpensive. Some of it is geared toward old ladies, but like every store, if you look through it, you’ll find the good stuff! Here are a few items from Newport-News.com that are guaranteed to lift your spirits and prepare you for Spring all at the same time! (more…)
